Our homes are our safe spaces, where we can sit back and relax after long days and where we can make memories with loved ones.

The atmosphere you create in your home matters – it can influence how you feel when you’re in your space. Combining the right scents in your home can bring about a tranquil atmosphere and calming aroma.

Home Mist with Lemongrass + Upcycled Grapefruit Water

Loved as part of our festive offerings and in our Beauty Cracker, our zesty Home Mist with Upcycled Grapefruit Water is a fan-favourite. Formulated with a range of aromatic oils, a few spritzes will fill the air with the wonderful scents of lemongrass, grapefruit and lavender.

The lavender essential oil in this product combined with eucalyptus essential oil helps to create a calm space and promote a quiet mind. Lemongrass and lemon bring an invigoratingly zesty aroma, bringing balance to your space.

How to use: Spritz this mist 10cm from fabrics; curtains, carpets and cushions.

How to use UpCircle’s home fragrance mist

1. Disguise odours in the bathroom

This isn’t something that needs too much elaboration on, but our Home Mist can be used to disguise unpleasant odours in the bathroom and keep things smelling fresh and zesty.

2. Freshen up your fabrics

A great way to make use of our Home Mist is on your linens and fabrics.

Simply spritz a few sprays over cushions, carpets and curtains to give your space a cheerful and revitalising aroma to welcome you home.

3. Create a calming aroma

The lavender oil and eucalyptus oil in our Home Mist blend together seamlessly to create a serene and harmonious atmosphere, ideal for reducing tension and promoting mental clarity.

This would be ideal for when you’re meditating or practising yoga.

Organic home mist ingredients

Our Home Mist is formulated with a curated blend of essential oils to provide an uplifting, empowering scent for your home.

1. Lemongrass essential oil

A popular powerful citrus aroma, lemongrass (cymbopogon) essential oil is wonderfully rejuvenating to the senses. Lemongrass essential oil is derived from the leaves and stalks of the lemongrass plant, typically through steam distillation.

Reminiscent of lemon, lemongrass oil has a slightly sweeter scent with an earthier tone. This versatile oil blends well with other citrusy scents, as well as herbal oils such as lavender, peppermint and rosemary oil.

Used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine, lemongrass is hailed for its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Research has shown that both lemongrass oil and extract are effective against a wide variety of disease-causing microbes. Similarly, the antibacterial capacity of lemongrass oil is well-established.

2. Peppermint essential oil

Providing a perfectly fresh, minty aroma, peppermint essential oil has an instantly recognisable scent. Invigorating and uplifting, this essential oil is known for its ability to promote mental clarity, focus, and alertness.

Menthol, which is extracted from peppermint, is a common ingredient in products used for respiratory congestion. Many people use peppermint oil or peppermint oil infused room sprays to help clear the airways and promote easier breathing.

The invigorating aroma of peppermint essential oil can help uplift your mood and create a refreshing and stimulating atmosphere, perfect for boosting your motivation.

This oil combines wonderfully with the eucalyptus, lavender and lemon oils in our Home Mist to create an uplifting scent.

3. Lemon essential oil

Lemon essential oil is derived by cold-pressing lemon peels and is characterised by a distinctive bright, citrusy aroma.

This essential oil has been found to show considerable antioxidant and antimicrobial activity, which when used in a room spray, could make it effective for purifying the air and eliminating airborne pathogens.

Using lemon-infused room sprays or mists can help promote a clean and hygienic environment, especially during cold and flu season.

4. Lavender essential oil

A calming, floral scent, lavender essential oil is widely used in pillow sprays and home mists.

Lavender oil is renowned for its calming and relaxing properties, which some people find can help to alleviate stress, anxiety, and struggles with sleep. Using lavender-scented room sprays or mists in your home can create a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

Possessing natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, a lavender-infused home mist can help to purify the air and eliminate odours and create a fresh and inviting environment in your home.

5. Eucalyptus essential oil

Fresh and invigorating, eucalyptus essential oil is typically used in aromatherapy. Its aroma can help to clear the mind, enhance focus, and promote both a sense of vitality and energy.

Research has found eucalyptus oil to be antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial. Some people find that eucalyptus oil helps to relieve some symptoms of colds such as stuffy noses and also relieve some respiratory complaints.

For those who live in perhaps hotter climates, eucalyptus oil has been found to act as a natural insect repellent, particularly against mosquitoes and flies.

Diffusing or spraying eucalyptus oil in your home can help create a refreshing and revitalising atmosphere, perfect for boosting your energy levels and improving focus.

6. Geranium essential oil

A rich and complex scent, geranium essential oil is both floral and herbaceous. Sweet, uplifting, and balancing, this oil also has subtle fruity notes. The fragrance of geranium oil can help create a harmonious and comforting atmosphere in your home.

Geranium oil possesses natural antibacterial and deodorising properties, which can help purify the air and neutralise odours, working to create an inviting atmosphere in the home.
