It's time to prioritise bodycare as much as skincare

  • 4 min read

When you look after your skin, is it just the skin on your face, or do you also take care of your body and scalp too?

Body skin care routine

Bodycare doesn’t need to be complicated, and not every step needs to be completed every single day – in fact, if you do, it can be more damaging to your skin.

1. Cleanse your skin

Cleansing your skin helps to maintain hygiene and skin health. Helping to remove dirt, oil, and pollutants that build up on your skin throughout the day, cleansing is an essential first step in your body skincare routine.

There are different types of cleanser you can use, but we always recommend using a natural cleanser that is formulated with nourishing ingredients to support your skin.

Product picks:

Our Fennel + Cardamom Chai Cleansing Bar combats breakouts, gently cleanses to purify and energise the skin, and draws out toxins from pores. A great form of waterless skincare, our soap bar is suitable for use on both the face and body.

Formulated with upcycled residual chai spices used to create chai syrups, shea butter to leave the skin hydrated and smooth, and glycerin to help keep skin hydrated and nourished, this cleansing bar helps to support your skin barrier.

Alternatively, if you prefer liquid soaps, our Natural Hand + Body Wash with Lemongrass works to cleanse and invigorate the skin. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, this cleanser also has anti-inflammatory properties, soothing skin as it cleanses.

Locking in moisture and boosting radiance, this fruity hand and body wash leaves skin feeling soothed and protected. Suitable for dry skin, this cleanser is made with the upcycled anti-inflammatory residual water of kiwi fruit, a by-product of the juicing industry.

How to use:

2. Use a gentle exfoliator

Exfoliation is a key step in skincare that helps remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and promote a fresh, glowing complexion – but it doesn’t need to be done every single day. It’s important to do it correctly to avoid irritation or damage.

There are two main types of exfoliation: physical and chemical. Physical exfoliation includes products like coffee scrubs, which use physical particles to slough away dead skin cells. Chemical exfoliation uses acids or enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells without scrubbing the skin.

Physical exfoliation should be limited to one to two times per week, and chemical exfoliation to two to three times per week.

Product picks:

Our vegan Body Scrub works to buff away dry skin and gently exfoliates the skin. Suitable for dull, dry skin, this scrub revives and brightens skin, while fading dark spots. Formulated with sea salt, lime, lemongrass and coconut oil, this scrub is high in vitamins A and E to help moisturise the skin.

Formulated with upcycled top-quality Arabica coffee grounds sourced from artisan coffee shops in London, this scrub is proudly natural, sustainable, vegan, and cruelty-free.

How to use:

Mix the scrub in the jar before applying to damp skin in circular motions. Leave for a few moments before washing off with water. We recommend using the UpCircle Mini Metal Scoops to help make mixing easier!

3. Soak in some bath salts

Add a touch of relaxation to your routine with a soak in the tub, featuring our Bath Salts with Epsom, Sea + Himalayan Pink Salt.

Formulated with upcycled rose petals to inspire relaxation and to invigorate the senses, these beautifully scented bath salts feature luxurious natural salts and aromatic botanicals to help calm the mind and relax the body. Omega-rich grapeseed oil strengthens skin barrier while Himalayan salt cleanses and balances the skin.

The combination of lavender and geranium oil grounds the senses helping you unwind and relax while the bath salts get to work. Each jar is brimming with upcycled rose petals and contains a trio of natural salts: muscle-relaxing Epsom salt, breakout-busting sea salt and anti-pollutant Himalayan pink salt.

How to use: Pour a heaped tablespoon of salts into a warm bath and enjoy a restful soak.

4. Use a natural deodorant

After cleansing your skin, opt for a natural deodorant that is kind to your skin. Our Refillable Deodorant with Macadamia + Bergamot is enriched with macadamia oil to nourish and hydrate your skin, ensuring it feels soft and cared for all day long.

Refreshingly zesty, bergamot and lime provides a light, uplifting fragrance that keeps you feeling fresh and confident. Upcycled prickly pear is a great anti-inflammatory that works to soothe any potential irritation, making it a great choice for those with sensitive skin.

Say goodbye to sticky residues and constant reapplication – our deodorant glides smoothly, offering an even and lasting protection of up to 24 hours. Its unique baking soda-free formulation ensures it stays effective and free from irritation throughout your busy day, from morning workouts to evening engagements.

This deodorant minimises environmental impact by using 100% recyclable aluminium packaging, as well as each refill cartridge consisting of 100% biodegradable cardboard packaging.

5. Moisturise your skin

We know how important it is to moisturise and nourish the skin on your face and neck, but the same applies to the skin on the rest of your body.
